The Hospitals in South Africa are quite different from the ones you see in America.
There is a shortage of qualified hospital staff and a desperate need for medical supplies. Due to overcrowding and limited space, six or more children have to share one small room.
In spite of pain and suffering, their eyes light up when you walk into the room with toys, books, or candy. You will have an opportunity to shower the little ones with love and prayer. They are the sweetest children in the world.
Door Of Hope
In Johannesburg, many babies are discarded everyday. Unwanted infants are stuffed in plastic bags, left in trash cans, abandoned in parks, thrown from buildings, and flushed down toilets. The need is overwhelming - due to poverty, homelessness, overcrowding, and sickness.
The “Door of Hope”, also known as “Hole in the Wall” allows mothers to drop off their unwanted babies any time, day or night - no questions asked! Your love and support enables “Door of Hope” to continue to keep the door open to abandoned, abused, and HIV/AIDS babies! |

The dump
At the city dump, on the outskirts of Johannesburg, poverty has forced countless families to live under inhumane and very disturbing living conditions. Men, women, and children scavenge through the waste and scraps for food in attempts to relieve their chronic hunger.
